Make Your Own Ice Cream

Let’s celebrate National Ice Cream Month! You’ll get to make and eat your very own small batch of ice cream, made with just a few simple ingredients and a little bit of hard work. (Ages 6-17) Registration is required. Sign up starts two weeks before event call 717-944-6412 or sign up at the front desk.

Our solar system is huge.  So huge, in fact, that it's difficult to comprehend the sheer size of the sun, the planets, and the vast distances between them.  Local amateur astronomer Adam Drake makes it easy to understand how large our celestial neighbors are, and how far away from us they all are, using common household objects.

Other Worlds Wednesday-Train Like an Astronaut!

Exercise is an important part of an astronaut’s daily routine and during this fun program you’ll get to jump, stretch, balance, and more as you “train like an astronaut!” You’ll also learn about why exercise is such an important part of astronaut training. Please wear sneakers or other exercise appropriate footwear! After your training receive a free book from Middletown Kiwanis.

Stories and Sidewalk Chalk

Children up to age 6 (with their favorite adult) are welcome to join us for an outdoor storytime followed by time to decorate the sidewalk in front of the library with sidewalk chalk. In case of rain, we'll move the fun indoors.

Other Worlds Wednesday- Andrew’s Big Show

MCSO Building W. Emaus Street, Middletown

Special time of 1 pm Andrew has been performing his show in libraries across multiple states for over 15 years. His high energy show will put your readers in a festive mood and add a spark to the whole day. Tested in circuses, on cruise ships and in hundreds of different venues around the world, his  Juggling, Circus Skills, Physical Comedy, and Audience Participation all combine to make sure young and old alike enjoy the show. Special for this year’s theme, Andrew will have some space themed music and a few other outer worldly surprises.

Karns Sausage Fundraiser…

Karns is partnering with the Middletown Public Library for a special fundraiser. Wednesday, Aug 7 from 5pm until 6:30pm (While supplies last). Karns is selling sausage, chips & a drink for only $2. All proceeds go to the library.
