Musician Steven Courtney

Middletown Public Library

Join us as we welcome back musician Steven Courtney who has performed over 5,000 concerts for kids! A winner of a number of awards including the 2011 Parents Choice Award for his “Million Smiles to Go” album Steven will entertain us with two special performances this year: a show at 10 am for our youngest readers (suggested ages birth – 6 please) and a show at 1 pm for our older readers (ages 6 and up).

Whitaker Center presents “On the Road with Stuffee”

Week six brings the Whitaker Center’s Whitaker on Wheels program. “On the Road with Stuffee” is a program for kids of all ages. Meet a friendly, 7-foot tall, blue haired friend and learn about body systems, good nutrition, and organ transplant education. An all ages show.

Ryan “The Bug Man” Bridge

Do you like bugs? Then you need to come this week to check out Ryan “The Bug Man” and his collection of assorted insects. With a passion for entomology (that means he likes bugs!) Ryan has been sharing his knowledge and creature collection for over 30 years! Come and see how incredible insects can be. An all ages show.

Summer Slide Show & Movie: FROZEN

Wind down the end of summer and cool off with Disney's FROZEN in our basement. We’ll watch a music filled slideshow of our summer events and finish up with a great family friendly movie. Snacks will be provided for everyone in attendance. An all ages event.

This 4-week session we'll be sharing stories, songs, and rhymes about mice! From Library Mouse to If You Give a Mouse a Cookie to Mortimer to Mickey it'll be squeaky good fun!

Preschool Story Time

Story time for our toddler and preschool crowd. (Recommended for children ages 2-6 with a caregiver). No registration is required and siblings are welcome. Please note the time change. This 7-week session we’ll be sharing books about some of Miss Beth’s favorite storybook characters including Bear and Mouse, Splat the Cat, the Pigeon, and more! This story time series will feature a very simple art activity each week including stampers, markers, paint, beads, and more. Parent/caregiver involvement during story time is encouraged and greatly appreciated.

LEGO® Junior Maker Club KICK-OFF Celebration

Joins us for our KICK-OFF celebration to celebrate the launch of our new LEGO® Junior Maker Club! Make, tinker, build, and explore with our brand new LEGO donation made possible on behalf of LEGO® Systems, Inc. and the Association for Library Services to Children. The Junior Maker club encourages children to take a hands-on, minds-on approach to "making" with the use of LEGO® bricks while tying in a love for reading. For children ages 4-9 with their parent or caregiver. No registration required.
