The Middletown Public Library is partnering with the United Way’s “Money in Your Pocket” program which offers FREE tax preparation for low to moderate-income individuals and families (generally those with a yearly income of $58,000 or less). The program runs Monday nights from 5:30 to 8 pm beginning January 31 and ending April 11. People are helped on a first come, first served basis. Caring Hearts Pet Therapy program Tales with T.A.I.L.S. (Therapy Animals Increase Literacy Skills) seeks to improve children’s reading and communication skills with the assistance of registered therapy animal teams. The children are encouraged to read, engage, and connect with the pet. Bring your favorite book or two or choose one here at the library to share with one of our animal friends. Children will have the opportunity to read individually or in small groups with each of the animals at the session depending on the number of children registered and pets available. Members of the Book Club meet monthly the 1st Thursday of every month at 6 pm (in person and virtually) to discuss a variety of chosen books. Star Trek Rewatch is an online group on Facebook where group members discuss Star Trek episodes. They are currently discussing an episode of DS9 every other day. And Fridays they are discussing an episode of The Lower Decks.
